A Lasting Investment in the Hokie Experience
The landscape of college athletics is changing rapidly, and Virginia Tech is making the choice to compete with the nation's best, not simply participate. The Investors Society provides an opportunity for Hokies to respond to that moment with meaningful, sustained philanthropic investment.
The Investors Society is the exclusive major giving society of Virginia Tech Athletics, created to bring together Hokies who are committed to investing at the highest level in the future of our student-athletes, coaches and programs.
Through significant philanthropic support, Investors Society members help provide the resources needed to position Virginia Tech Athletics for continuous success on the national scale.
The Investors Society complements, rather than replaces, annual giving through the Hokie Club. The donations are in addition to what is necessary for your required Invest to Win Commitment, but your membership in the society will also unlock exclusive engagement opportunities within Virginia Tech Athletics. The Investors Society is the inner circle of the athletic department and provides crucial, unrestricted discretionary funding that will be directed toward the areas our athletic administration deems most impactful, helping position our programs among the nation's elite and compete for championships.
Invest in What Matters Most
The Investors Society gives donors the opportunity to make a transformational impact on Virginia Tech Athletics' top priorities. All gifts of $50,000 or more to a philanthropic fund such as super booster groups and scholarship endowments within Virginia Tech Athletics qualify donors for Investors Society membership. While the group is inclusive of all Major gift donors, the Investors Society fund is the clear priority for Hokie Athletics in this new era and supports the following needs:
- Coaches and Student-Athletes: Scholarships, student-athlete support and resources that help student-athletes thrive. This fund also allows us to build and retain strong coaching staffs.
- Programs: Critical programmatic support that strengthens the ability of 22 varsity sports in Blacksburg to be competitive on a national scale.
- Facilities: Capital projects, facilities and other physical spaces that support the continued excellence of Virginia Tech Athletics.
Membership Levels
Investors Society membership begins with a major gift commitment of $50,000. Donors may fulfill their commitment over a five-year period, with annual commitments aligned to the following levels:
Priority Points
Investors Society donors will receive bonus priority points associated with their annual commitment payments. The current engagement structure awards bonus points at different rates based on commitment level, with points earned as payments are received. It is important to note that, although membership in a sport-specific super booster group qualifies your Investors Society membership, only commitments to the Investors Society Fund unlock the bonus priority points multipliers. How Your Commitment Works
Investors Society commitments are typically fulfilled over five years, instituting your membership during that time. Virginia Tech Athletics staff will work with each donor to establish a payment schedule that fits their circumstances. Commitments may be fulfilled through annual payments or other mutually agreed-upon schedules. A donor may also choose to fulfill a commitment in full before the five-year period concludes, but membership will continue at the designated level for the remainder of the five-year term.
Investors Society gifts are above and beyond Invest to Win Commitment requirements associated with football & basketball seating or parking benefits. Donors should continue to meet applicable annual requirements to maintain their desired seating and parking allocations.
